Heidecksburg Palace in Rudolstadt is the most magnificent 18th-century baroque palace in the Free State of Thuringia. It attracts over 100,000 visitors a year with its diverse collections and exhibitions. Particularly impressive, apart from Rococo en miniature, are the ceremonial rooms of the former residence of the counts and princes of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, which breathe the lightness of southern German rococo.
Travel comfortably to Rudolstadt by train or bus and explore the city with its imposing residential palace, take advantage of a variety of cultural offerings and enjoy the beauty of the Saale valley.
Rudolstadt (Thür) railway stationand bus station are centrally located, just a few minutes from the market square. From there, several stairways can be used to reach Heidecksburg Palace. A walk of about 15 to 20 minutes should be planned.

Heidecksburg Palace is a destination and starting point of many hiking trails. The castle is on the way of several major routes, for example the Thuringia Trail from Altenburg to Creutzburg or the European Mountain Trail from Eisenach to Budapest. The Rudolstadt Schiller Hiking Trail, for example, which also passes Heidecksburg Palace, is dedicated to Friedrich Schiller.
