Pelaria and Dyonia are wondrous kingdoms. They arose from a child's wish and were built for one purpose only - to play. With papier-mâché, plaster, wire, paper and feathers, Sonneberg restorer Gerhard Bätz and Berlin graphic artist Manfred Kiedorf brought their imaginations to life. The film by MDR reporter Ria Weber reveals the allure of unrestrained ostentation in these little worlds. Buyers all over the world have sought these miniatures. Now they have returned to Thuringia. The Thuringian State Museum Heidecksburg in Rudolstadt has acquired the miniature worlds that are unique worldwide. A happy ending for the two artists - the castles will remain in the state as the »Rococo en miniature« exhibition.
